Compliance Specialist – Graduate Trainee

About the role

Our European banking client is seeking a Graduate Trainee to support Financial Crime Compliance operations. This entry‑level position offers recent graduates hands‑on exposure to transaction monitoring, investigations and regulatory compliance within a global financial institution.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse automated alerts generated by transaction monitoring systems.
• Conduct research on customers, accounts, transactions and related parties to identify potential risks or unusual activity.
• Document investigative findings clearly and accurately within internal case management systems.
• Escalate alerts requiring additional review to senior team members.
• Assist with gathering supporting documentation and maintaining accurate records.
• Collaborate with compliance and investigative teams to support daily operations.
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Internship experience preferred, ideally within banking, compliance, legal, operations or financial services.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Professional certifications such as CAMS, CFE or similar are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with case management or research tools.
