About the role
The Research Security Office of the Texas A&M University System is seeking a Compliance Officer I to monitor and facilitate adherence to federal, state and system regulations governing research activities.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, establish and maintain a broad‑based compliance program aligned with ethical standards and applicable laws.
- Monitor compliance with federal, state and TAMUS regulatory standards, including statutes, codes, policies and procedures.
- Identify compliance vulnerabilities and create action plans to remediate non‑compliant areas.
- Respond to potential policy violations by recommending and participating in investigative procedures.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, provide requested information and manage pre‑audit and follow‑up activities.
- Oversee monitoring of research security policies, maintain compliance records, training documentation and filing systems.
- Maintain a database of all relevant rules and procedures required by TAMUS and additional applicable regulations.
Required profile
- Strong understanding of federal, state and higher‑education regulatory environments.
- Ability to assess compliance risks and develop remediation plans.
- Experience supporting audit processes and investigative activities.
- Attention to detail in maintaining records and documentation.
- Commitment to ethical conduct and continuous improvement of compliance programs.
