Community Services Coordinator – Office of Deaf Services (Atlanta)

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Community Services Coordinator for its Office of Deaf Services in Atlanta. This hybrid position (three days onsite) supports statewide coordination of services for Deaf, Deaf‑blind, and hard‑of‑hearing consumers, ensuring continuity of care and culturally appropriate delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the State Director of Deaf Services in planning and implementing programs for DBHDD consumers who communicate in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Identify program enhancement needs, set goals, and develop initiatives that address statewide service gaps.
• Coordinate with local, state, and national agencies and contracted providers to ensure collaborative, culturally appropriate services.
• Oversee provider contracts, monitor service quality, and support staff recruitment, supervision, and evaluation.
• Serve as the primary information hub for individuals and families seeking DBHDD services.
• Lead disaster‑mental‑health response for Deaf and hard‑of‑hearing populations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a human services field such as psychology, counseling, education, or social work.
• Minimum two years of experience delivering services to Deaf or hard‑of‑hearing populations.
• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a solid understanding of Deaf culture.
• Working knowledge of systems theory (preferred) and a clinical license with supervision training (preferred).
