About the role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a Community Engagement Supervisor to lead efforts that integrate refugees, asylees, and other immigrants into the Abilene community. This role coordinates outreach, builds partnerships, and connects clients with local resources to support successful resettlement.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement a local community engagement strategy that drives financial, in‑kind, and volunteer support for IRC clients.
- Collaborate with IRC staff to amplify messaging and promote community sponsorship opportunities.
- Conduct outreach activities, deliver presentations, and represent IRC at meetings and events.
- Organize quarterly community consultations and events that foster connections between newcomers and volunteers.
- Serve as the primary liaison for community groups, providing orientation, training, and ongoing support.
- Coordinate documentation and service delivery for sponsored families in line with funder guidelines.
- Assist with the collection and distribution of donations and support event planning.
Required profile
- Strong commitment to humanitarian values and IRC’s mission.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Experience in community outreach, program coordination, or nonprofit engagement.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholder relationships.
