Communications Intern

About the role

The United Nations Youth Office is seeking a Communications Intern to support the Partnerships, Advocacy and Communications Section. The intern will contribute to the UN Youth Compass initiative and the Townhall event, helping to amplify youth participation across UN processes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing visual communications products such as PowerPoint presentations and infographics.
• Support the design and execution of social media campaigns and create weekly and monthly editorial calendars.
• Track social media engagement to identify high‑performing ideas and campaigns for scalability.
• Produce videos and photos of UN Youth Office events.
• Participate in meetings, take notes, and perform other duties as required.
• Assist in the UN Youth Compass initiative and Townhall event coordination.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or have completed the final year of a bachelor’s, master’s or Ph.D. programme.
• Good knowledge of social media tools and standard software applications, especially MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of another UN language or Chinese is a plus.
• Experience in youth engagement or youth‑related processes is an asset.
• Applicants are not required to have professional work experience.
