Commercial Truck Driver Class A Adjunct Instructor

About the role

Georgia Piedmont Technical College is seeking a part‑time Adjunct Instructor to deliver Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A training at its Regional Transportation Training Center. The instructor will teach both classroom and hands‑on field sessions to students and industry clients, preparing them for professional truck‑driving careers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver CDL Class A theory and practical instruction in classroom, lab, and field environments.
• Develop and implement course materials that meet learning‑outcome objectives and certification requirements.
• Administer examinations, evaluate student progress, and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with students, staff, and other educators to address instructional issues and support student success.

Required profile

• Minimum three years recent experience operating large combination vehicles.
• High school diploma or GED; clean motor‑vehicle record and unrestricted Class A CDL.
• Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background checks.
• Willingness to work flexible evenings and weekends as class schedules demand.

Required skills

• Class A Commercial Driving License (CDL).
• Proficient computer skills for course management and record‑keeping.

What we offer
