Commercial Litigation Senior Associate

About the role

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Commercial Litigation Senior Associate to join its Los Angeles or Oakland office. The role involves handling complex commercial disputes for clients in the Technology, Manufacturing & Transportation business unit.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct factual investigations and manage discovery processes.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
• Take and defend depositions, and negotiate settlements.
• Represent the firm in hearings, conferences, and procedural matters in state and federal courts.
• Handle administrative matters and arbitrations as needed.
• Collaborate with attorneys across the Technology, Manufacturing & Transportation practice.

Required profile

• 6‑10 years of experience in complex commercial litigation.
• Active California bar license and admission to California state and federal courts.
• Strong academic credentials and a record of community involvement.
• Excellent judgment, ability to manage multiple projects, and effective communication of legal strategies.

Required skills

• Experience with factual investigations, discovery, pleadings, depositions, motions practice, and settlement negotiations.
• Proficiency in courtroom practice and procedural matters.
• Familiarity with administrative matters, arbitrations, and optionally automotive cases.
