Commercial Lender

About the role

We are seeking a Commercial Lender to join our team in the greater Chicagoland area. The role involves originating, underwriting, and closing commercial loans while managing a portfolio in line with bank policies and regulatory guidelines. You will also develop and service relationships with existing and new customers, promoting a range of bank products.

Key responsibilities

• Call on existing customers to retain and expand relationships.
• Develop new prospects to meet individual sales goals.
• Interview borrowers, gather financial statements, and assess collateral.
• Structure, price, and underwrite loans according to bank guidelines.
• Respond to underwriting queries to minimize turnaround time.
• Review loan presentations for compliance before submission.
• Approve loans within designated limits and recommend others for approval.
• Maintain loan portfolio quality by collecting past‑due payments and managing renewals.
• Enter sales activities and referrals promptly into Salesforce.
• Participate in community and professional organizations to enhance the bank’s image.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of commercial lending, underwriting, and credit analysis.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with credit, loan administration, and business banking teams.
• Commitment to compliance and continuous learning.
