Commercial Lender

About the role

We are seeking a Commercial Lender to originate, underwrite, and close commercial loans for customers in the greater Chicagoland area. The role involves managing a loan portfolio, providing financial consultation, and expanding relationships through cross‑selling of bank products while representing the bank in the community.

Key responsibilities

• Call on existing customers to retain and expand relationships and develop new prospects.
• Interview prospective borrowers, gather financial statements, and assess collateral.
• Structure, price, and underwrite loans in accordance with bank policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Respond promptly to underwriting inquiries to minimize turnaround time.
• Review loan presentations for accuracy, ensure compliance, and approve loans within lending limits.
• Participate in Officer Loan Committee discussions and voting.
• Manage past‑due loans, renewals, and insurance updates.
• Enter sales calls and referrals in Salesforce and maintain up‑to‑date records.
• Engage in community and service organizations to promote the bank’s image.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial lending, underwriting, and loan portfolio management.
• Strong ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
• Knowledge of bank policies, regulatory lending guidelines, and credit analysis.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to participate in community activities and represent the bank.
