Commercial Counsel

About the role

We’re hiring a Commercial Counsel to join Sierra’s legal team, focusing on commercial contracts while expanding into IP, regulatory, and product matters in a fast‑growing AI company.

Key responsibilities

• Structure, negotiate and advise on commercial contracts such as SaaS subscription agreements, technology licenses, professional services agreements, channel partner agreements, vendor agreements and NDAs.
• Develop templates, playbooks and workflows to improve contract lifecycle efficiency and scalability.
• Provide expertise across contract law, IP, privacy and emerging AI regulatory frameworks.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales, Operations and Agent Development to support revenue growth.
• Exercise sound judgement on risk in a hyperscaling business environment.

Required profile

• 2‑6 years of legal experience, including both large law firm and in‑house tech roles.
• Strong background negotiating complex commercial contracts, preferably in SaaS, AI or enterprise software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to partner with legal and non‑legal stakeholders.
• Proactive mindset with comfort navigating ambiguity in a fast‑paced startup.
