Commercial Construction Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to lead projects from preconstruction through closeout for a respected general contractor in Raleigh, NC. This role offers true ownership of the entire construction lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage commercial construction projects from inception to client turnover, coordinating with clients, subcontractors, architects, and engineers.
• Partner with estimating and pre‑construction teams to define scope, budget, constructability and risks.
• Develop, negotiate and administer subcontractor scopes, contracts and AIA owner agreements.
• Maintain project schedules, critical‑path activities and proactively resolve conflicts.
• Oversee financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, job costing and profit monitoring.
• Handle RFIs, submittals, change orders and other project controls.

Required profile

• 5‑10+ years of commercial construction experience, preferably with a general contractor.
• Proven ability to manage projects through the full lifecycle and maintain financial health.
• Strong client‑facing communication and relationship‑management skills.
• Stable work history and interest in a long‑term career.

Required skills

• Project scheduling and critical‑path management.
• Budgeting, job costing, forecasting and financial management.
• Subcontractor scope development, buyout and contract negotiation.
• Reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications and contracts.
