Commercial Class B Instructor (Part-time) – 4 openings

About the role

The State of Georgia seeks qualified professionals to teach Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B courses on a part‑time, adjunct basis. Instructors will work at the Regional Transportation Training Center and may also teach at DeKalb or Newton campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver CDL Class B training to students and business/industry clients across four county service areas.
• Administer tests, evaluate student progress, and maintain program certification requirements.
• Ensure safety and security standards are met in all training areas.

Required profile

• Minimum three years recent experience operating large combination vehicles (trucks or buses).
• High school diploma or GED; hold a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement.
• Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and possess strong computer and communication skills.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and occasional weekends.

What we offer

• Hourly compensation of $28.00 per hour.
• Assignments are per term and scheduled based on class needs; no guaranteed long‑term employment.
