College Faculty - Bible, Missions & Ministry

About the role

The Department of Bible, Missions and Ministry at Abilene Christian University is seeking a full-time, non-tenure-track college faculty member starting in January 2027. The university is affiliated with the Church of Christ, so all qualified applicants must be professing Christians and active, faithful members of a congregation of the Churches of Christ, and willing to support the Christian mission of the university. The position teaches upper-level ministry courses, with an emphasis on Youth and Family Ministry, and general education survey courses in Bible and/or Ministry.

Key responsibilities

• Teach upper-level ministry courses, focusing on Youth and Family Ministry, and general education survey courses in Bible and/or Ministry.
• Mentor undergraduate students.
• Maintain expertise in the field through appropriate professional development.
• Serve on department, college and university committees as needed.

Required profile

• Professing Christian and active, faithful member of a congregation of the Churches of Christ.
• Experience in Youth and Family ministry.
• An MDiv, MACM or similar degree in religious studies.
• Preference for a terminal degree (e.g. DMin, ThD, EdD, PhD) and experience in multiple types of church ministry.
• A scholarly research agenda, shown by presentations and publications, strengthens the application but is not required.
• Ability to relate to a multi-ethnic student body with wide-ranging familiarity with the Bible and the Christian faith.
