Co-op Software Design Assurance (IGTD) – Plymouth, MN

About the role

Join Philips as a Co‑op in Software Design Assurance, supporting software‑intensive medical device programs in Plymouth, MN. This paid internship offers hands‑on experience with software lifecycle compliance, documentation, and quality activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Software Design Assurance team with software lifecycle compliance, documentation reviews, requirements traceability and audit‑readiness.
• Collaborate with Development, Systems Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Product Security and Quality partners on product development and process improvement.
• Prepare design and technical review materials, risk management documentation, verification evidence, cybersecurity and Software Bill of Materials records.
• Support digitalisation initiatives such as process mapping, dashboards, knowledge management and AI‑based lifecycle tools.

Required profile

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, organization and written/verbal communication skills.
• Experience from university projects, coursework, labs, prior internships or co‑ops is welcome.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Python.
• Experience with Power BI, SharePoint, Git, Azure DevOps and Codebeamer (or similar tools).
