Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Kubernetes & KubeVirt

About the role

Mirantis, a Kubernetes-native AI infrastructure company, is hiring a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer for its Austin facility. The engineer designs, implements and operates enterprise-grade Kubernetes platforms across hybrid AWS and Azure environments, supporting both containerized and virtualized workloads with KubeVirt, and leads cloud modernization and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate Kubernetes infrastructure for containerized and virtualized workloads, using KubeVirt to unify VM and container management
• Build and maintain production observability platforms to reduce MTTR and improve reliability
• Establish DevSecOps standards, including Harbor registry security, image scanning, container security controls, RBAC and compliance baselines
• Automate infrastructure provisioning with Infrastructure as Code and standardize environments
• Implement Argo CD-based GitOps workflows and GitOps-based CI/CD pipelines with Argo CD and Helm
• Lead cloud modernization, migrating legacy platforms to cloud-native architectures
• Define cloud governance, security policies and compliance frameworks, and mentor teams and lead design reviews
• Configure and troubleshoot Kubernetes networking, including Multus CNI, MetalLB load balancing and CNI plugin issues

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field
• Five years of post-baccalaureate experience in software engineering, systems engineering or a related occupation
• Experience designing and operating production Kubernetes clusters for enterprise workloads
• Experience with AWS or Azure production infrastructure, including hybrid or multi-cloud architecture
• Linux system administration in production environments
