Clinical Services Manager, Labor & Delivery

About the role

The Clinical Services Manager for Labor & Delivery leads the delivery of high‑quality obstetric care at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Reporting to senior clinical leadership, the manager ensures safe, efficient, and patient‑centered services across the labor and delivery unit.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the labor & delivery department, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and accreditation standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to optimize patient flow and clinical outcomes.
• Develop and monitor quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and performance metrics.
• Manage budgets, supply inventories, and equipment maintenance for the unit.
• Lead recruitment, training, and professional development of clinical personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in labor & delivery, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive quality improvement.
• Strong knowledge of obstetric care standards, regulatory requirements, and patient safety protocols.
