Clinical Nurse III – Critical Care Unit

About the role

The Clinical Nurse III provides professional nursing care on the Critical Care Unit at Cumberland Medical Center. This full‑time, night‑shift position works 72 hours per pay period and supports patients with complex medical needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patient history, needs, and support systems to develop individualized care plans.
• Coordinate care planning with interdisciplinary teams and recommend appropriate interventions.
• Evaluate and adjust care plans, resolving complex clinical issues without supervision.
• Perform critical nursing skills tailored to age‑specific patient populations.
• Lead process‑improvement initiatives and participate in quality‑improvement projects.
• Precept new employees and students, providing education and feedback.
• Supervise LPNs, nursing assistants, techs, and sitters while adhering to policies and safety standards.

Required profile

• Valid Tennessee RN license.
• Minimum three years of professional nursing experience, preferably in critical care.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to work independently and make clinical decisions.
