Clinical Evaluator – Sexual Offender Risk Review Board

About the role

The State of Georgia seeks a Clinical Evaluator to join the Sexual Offender Risk Review Board (SORRB). Working from a hybrid location in Atlanta, you will apply legislatively guided risk classification methods to assess the sexual recidivism risk of convicted sex offenders living in Georgia.

Key responsibilities

• Review criminal, prison, supervision, and treatment histories and produce comprehensive risk classification reports.
• Score and interpret the Static-99R and Static-02R actuarial tools, identify dynamic risk factors, and recommend designations.
• Complete a target number of reports each month and conduct re‑evaluation assessments for petitioning offenders.
• Participate in weekly staff meetings to discuss borderline or complex cases.
• Prepare for and testify as an expert witness in court hearings.
• Deliver educational presentations to the Board, stakeholders, and community groups.
• Maintain security clearance, attend annual integrity training, and use agency systems such as Concur.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a related behavioral science.
• At least two years of experience specializing in sex‑offender assessment or a closely related field.
• Ability to interpret actuarial risk tools and produce clear, evidence‑based reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for court testimony and stakeholder education.
