Client Controller – Tax & Financial Advisor

About the role

Hodges & Hergenrader, LLP is seeking an experienced Client Controller to serve as a trusted advisor for small‑to‑medium businesses and high‑net‑worth individuals. The role can be full‑time or part‑time and offers flexible remote, hybrid, or onsite options.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for tax and financial advice, supporting client growth strategies.
• Prepare and review business and owner income tax returns.
• Prepare and review monthly or quarterly financial statements.
• Provide proactive tax projections and advisory services.
• Identify operational improvements and recommend process enhancements.
• Collaborate with Client Service Managers to deliver superior client service.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a public accounting or consulting firm.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work independently and mentor junior staff.

• QuickBooks Online
• Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• UltraTax (preferred)
• Fixed Assets module (preferred)
• Checkpoint/RIA research software (a plus)
