Class 8 Driver - Chemical Distribution

About the role

Brenntag is hiring a driver in Chandler to run and deliver a Class 8 power unit (tractors and lower) for chemical distribution. The work involves transporting HAZMAT and non-hazardous materials, both liquid and dry, to customers, vendors, within the plant and between branches.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a Class 8 tractor, trailer or service vehicle safely and efficiently, complying with DOT, OSHA and site rules (placarding, loading/unloading, daily logs, repairs).
• Handle bulk liquid and solid deliveries, including loading and offloading with pumps and air, and manage the full process from transport to delivery and paperwork.
• Handle packaged deliveries in drums, IBCs or other containers, and palletized or supersacked dry products.
• Care for assigned equipment, including ELDs, virtual gateways, cameras and tracking units, and keep it clean and in good working order.
• Stay in contact with the supervisor or dispatcher for delivery instructions and complete required training.
• Follow Brenntag procedures and safety policies on customer and vendor sites, and work overtime or weekends as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED or US military experience; prior chemical delivery experience may be considered.
• Class A CDL with Tanker, Bulk and/or Hazmat endorsement, current DOT medical card, and ability to drive a manual transmission.
• Pallet jack certification required; forklift certification preferred if the location requires it.
• Ability to read and write simple instructions in English, perform basic math, and use devices such as smartphones and Samsara.
• Must live within 60 miles of the area, pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and E-verify check.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds, push or pull up to 150 pounds, climb ladders and wear a respirator if required.

Preferred

• At least 1 year of liquid bulk hauling experience or 3 years of commercial truck driving experience.
• Certification from an accredited commercial driving academy.
