About the role
The Civil Rights Compliance Coordinator supports Texas A&M University System members by advising, training, and consulting on civil rights policies and practices. Reporting to the Executive Director of Civil Rights Compliance, the role ensures consistent implementation of anti‑DEI law requirements across the system.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with the rollout and monitoring of civil rights compliance policies and procedures system‑wide.
- Evaluate member institutions for anti‑DEI law compliance, identify risks, and provide mitigation guidance.
- Review and route allegations of DEI violations to appropriate actions.
- Support the SB17 annual certification process through quarterly reports and yearly submissions.
- Conduct periodic anti‑DEI law compliance reviews at member campuses and agencies.
- Coordinate and manage internal and external civil rights cases, maintaining accurate records and resources.
- Develop and deliver training initiatives to promote compliance with civil rights laws and system policies.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience in civil rights compliance, DEI matters, or related legal fields.
- Strong knowledge of anti‑DEI legislation and higher‑education compliance requirements.
- Ability to analyze policies, assess risk, and provide clear guidance to diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for training and reporting.
