Civil Litigation Attorney – Contract Position

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Attorney/Lawyer to join a broad‑based civil practice in Mendon, Massachusetts on a long‑term contract basis. The role is ideal for a litigator who enjoys direct client interaction and handling a diverse portfolio of civil matters.

Key responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda and other litigation documents for a varied civil caseload.
• Manage discovery processes, including drafting requests, reviewing responses and organizing case materials.
• Communicate with clients to gather facts, explain developments and provide support throughout each matter.
• Conduct legal research and apply findings to case strategy and procedural planning.
• Assist with personal injury, family law, probate, commercial disputes and land‑use matters.
• Maintain organized case files, meet court deadlines and use legal technology tools to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• Active attorney license in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Prior experience handling civil litigation in a law firm or comparable setting.
• Proven ability to draft motions, briefs and memoranda.
• Working knowledge of discovery procedures and case preparation.
• Strong legal research and written analysis skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers and legal technology platforms.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted research or drafting tools (preferred).
