Civil Engineering Team Lead (PE)

About the role

The Mannik & Smith Group is seeking a Civil Engineering Team Lead (PE) to drive quality engineering solutions across commercial, industrial, energy, utility, and community projects throughout the Midwest. You will guide projects from concept through construction while mentoring a talented team of engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of civil engineers and designers, overseeing day‑to‑day project execution and performance.
• Coordinate with internal disciplines such as Surveying, Geotechnical, Structural, Traffic, Transportation, and Environmental Engineering.
• Oversee development and review of construction documents, including plan sets, specifications, and bid packages.
• Manage complete site civil design for private development projects, covering layout, grading, utilities, and stormwater management plans.
• Prepare and review feasibility studies, zoning analyses, stormwater modeling, cost estimates, and detailed engineering plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, or Indiana.
• 8+ years of civil engineering experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience preparing independent stormwater management reports and designs.
• Solid understanding of site development design and plan preparation.
