Civil Engineer – Construction Project Management

About the role

Strata‑G is looking for experienced Civil Engineers to join its engineering team in Oak Ridge, TN. You will manage construction projects from concept through completion, balancing office‑based design work with on‑site quality control.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze survey data, blueprints, maps and soil tests to plan project layouts.
• Create detailed 2D and 3D structural drawings using AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
• Estimate material, equipment and labor costs to develop accurate budgets.
• Conduct frequent site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Inspect building materials such as concrete and steel for structural integrity and safety.
• Prepare permit applications and ensure adherence to environmental laws and local building codes.
• Coordinate with clients, architects and subcontractors to keep projects on schedule.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification preferred; Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
• At least 2 years of experience in civil site development or infrastructure construction.
• Ability to travel to multiple construction sites and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Required skills

• High proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Experience using Civil 3D or similar CAD software.
