Child Welfare Services Technician 1

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Family & Children Services, is seeking a Child Welfare Services Technician 1 to provide paraprofessional social services to vulnerable children and families in Ocilla, Irwin County. Under direct supervision, you will conduct client intakes, assist with case management, and connect families to community resources.

Key responsibilities

• Complete client intakes based on interviews with clients, families, or reporters.
• Maintain contact with other social service agencies, health care providers, and related entities to exchange information and track client progress.
• Conduct screenings and searches for case history, relatives, and other relevant data.
• Assist clients in locating and utilizing community resources such as legal, medical, and financial assistance.
• Organize records, upload data and documents, generate reports, and compile data as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one (1) year of experience in a social‑services‑related position.
• Preference given to candidates with prior experience in child‑welfare or related fields.
