Child Welfare Services Case Manager – State of Georgia

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services seeks a motivated individual to join the Division of Family & Children Services as a Child Welfare Services Case Manager 1. Under supervision, you will learn to provide investigative and comprehensive case management for children and adults experiencing abuse or neglect.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to screened-in reports of alleged child maltreatment and conduct safety assessments.
• Develop and implement safety plans, conduct search efforts, and apply Solution Based Casework.
• Partner with families to create and use Family Functioning Agreements, Action Plans, and Family Plans.
• Complete genograms, identify support networks, and collaborate with community partners.
• Ensure adequate visit frequency, address physical, educational, and mental health needs, and set permanency goals.
• Maintain stable foster placements, promote sibling co‑placement, and preserve children’s community connections.
• Document case activities within policy time frames and serve on after‑hours on‑call duty.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Pass the standard agency testing protocol and meet background check requirements.
