Child Welfare Services Case Manager – Adoption Focus

About the role

Under supervision, you will provide investigative and comprehensive case management for a caseload involving child or adult abuse or neglect. You will take immediate and follow‑up actions for at‑risk clients needing protective services or placement.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate timely, face‑to‑face responses to screened‑in reports of alleged child maltreatment and conduct safety assessments.
• Develop and implement safety plans, conduct search efforts to locate children or families, and apply Solution Based Casework.
• Partner with children and parents to create Family Functioning Agreements, Action Plans, and Family Plans.
• Identify and address physical, educational, and mental health needs of children, parents, and foster parents.
• Establish and pursue permanency goals, ensuring stable foster placements and sibling co‑placement when possible.
• Maintain children’s connections to community, faith, extended family, school, and friends.
• Document case management activities within policy time frames and serve on after‑hours on‑call duty.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Pass the standard agency testing protocol for the position.
• Ability to use a privately owned vehicle for work‑related travel, including transportation of children.
• Willingness to be on‑call after hours as required.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
