Child Welfare Services Administrator

About the role

The Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS) within the Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking a Child Welfare Services Administrator to lead adoption and permanency operations in Region 13. This full‑time position is based in Marietta, Georgia and reports to the county director.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and assess adoption processes to ensure compliance with state policy and achievement of outcome measures.
• Build and maintain relationships with judicial stakeholders to facilitate timely permanency for children awaiting adoption.
• Lead and supervise Adoption Supervisors, Case Managers, and Social Services Technicians.
• Coordinate with regional and state adoption teams to recruit and retain placement options for children.
• Manage human‑resource functions and administrative activities for the adoption unit.
• Facilitate collaboration with child‑placing agencies, service providers, and community partners through resource‑engagement meetings.
• Address caregiver concerns and resolve grievances to support successful adoptions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
• At least two years of supervisory experience in a human‑service delivery program or equivalent child‑welfare case management role.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and agency regulations governing child protective services and family independence programs.
• Demonstrated ability to lead change, manage people, and drive results in large, complex programs.
