Child Care Services Consultant (CE) – Georgia

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Child Care Services (CCS) Consultant CE to support licensing compliance and quality improvement for child‑care facilities across Columbia and surrounding counties. This home‑based, field‑oriented position involves traveling throughout the service area to provide technical assistance and ensure adherence to state regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review, monitor, and enforce compliance with Georgia child‑care licensing rules and quality indicators.
• Provide professional consultation to licensed facilities and applicants on program operations, staff development, and service quality.
• Interpret statutory and administrative licensing requirements and offer technical assistance to achieve compliance.
• Conduct preliminary fire safety and environmental health inspections, integrating findings into licensing reports.
• Issue citations for rule violations and set timelines for corrective actions.
• Maintain regulatory supervision of both private and government‑operated child‑care facilities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of job‑related experience.
• Valid driver’s license (personal vehicle required for travel).

• Knowledge of state child‑care licensing statutes and administrative rules.
• Ability to conduct fire safety and environmental health inspections.
• Strong communication skills for providing technical assistance and guidance.
