Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer

About the role

The Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer provides strategic leadership for Texas A&M University‑Kingsville’s ethics and compliance program, promoting a culture of integrity and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and system regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the university’s comprehensive ethics and compliance program, including policy development and risk‑based monitoring.
• Conduct periodic risk assessments, develop corrective action plans, and manage investigations of discrimination, harassment, fraud, and other compliance concerns.
• Serve as the primary liaison with internal audit, legal counsel, regulatory agencies, and Texas A&M System compliance offices.
• Chair the University Compliance Committee and represent the university on system‑wide compliance committees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in ethics, compliance, investigations, risk management or related fields, with 5+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of federal and Texas state compliance regulations.
• Experience managing investigations and developing compliance training programs.
