Certified Welding Inspector – Southern NJ

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector to oversee quality assurance at a fabrication facility and conduct on‑site inspections during construction. The role requires strong knowledge of AWS codes and the ability to liaise with project managers, contractors and clients to ensure compliance and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with the Project Manager to define scope, schedule and budget for each work order.
• Coordinate with fabrication shops, contractors and third parties to resolve schedule issues.
• Ensure services are performed in accordance with project requirements and client contracts.
• Generate timesheets, billing and inspection reports using Microsoft Word/Adobe Acrobat and transmit them electronically.
• Maintain positive relationships between Bureau Veritas, the fabrication facility and the client.

Required profile

• Certified Welding Inspector (American Welding Society).
• D1.5 Bridge Inspection experience (preferred).
• NDT Level II (preferred).
• AMPP/NACE Level II (preferred).

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of American Welding Society (AWS) codes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience using Adobe Acrobat for report preparation.
• Familiarity with Lotus Notes (preferred).
• Ability to operate modern communication tools, digital cameras and laptops.
