About the role
The Certified Welding Inspector will oversee quality assurance for a fabrication facility on behalf of Bureau Veritas's client and conduct on‑site inspections during construction. The role requires strong knowledge of American Welding Society (AWS) codes and the ability to work closely with project teams.
Key responsibilities
- Communicate with the Project Manager to define work order scope, schedule, deliverables and budget.
- Coordinate with fabrication shops, contractors and third parties to resolve schedule issues.
- Ensure services are performed in line with project requirements and client contracts.
- Generate timesheets, billing and inspection reports using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat, and transmit them electronically.
- Maintain positive relationships between Bureau Veritas, the fabrication facility and the client.
Required profile
- Certified Welding Inspector (American Welding Society).
- D1.5 Bridge Inspection experience (preferred).
- NDT Level II (preferred).
- AMPP/NACE Level II (preferred).
Required skills
- Knowledge of AWS welding codes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience using Adobe Acrobat.
- Familiarity with Lotus Notes.
- Ability to read complex design and fabrication plans.
