CEI Senior Inspector

About the role

In this role you will perform highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, conduct engineering computations, inspect construction work, and carry out field tests.

Key responsibilities

• Document contractor’s daily work efforts and maintain a daily log of construction and inspection activities.
• Coordinate with contractor field personnel and utility owners, preparing project field books and density log books.
• Perform material sampling, laboratory testing, and assist in preparing the final estimate package.
• Measure distances, verify dimensions, levels, alignment, and elevations of construction activities.
• Observe work in progress to ensure procedures and specifications are followed, and examine finished installations for conformity.
• Record quantities of materials received or used and support roadway, bridge, segmental, survey, and environmental projects.

Required profile

• High school graduate with a minimum of 4 years of DOT roadway and/or bridge construction inspection experience.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
• Required certifications: CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level I, CTQP Earthwork Level I & II, CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I & II, Advanced MOT, CTQP Final Estimates Level I.
• Preferred certifications: CTQP Concrete Transportation Construction Inspector Level II, CTQP Pile Driving Inspection, CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection, Nuclear Radiation Safety, Critical Structures Construction Issues self‑study course.
• Availability to work at least 40 hours per week with possible overtime.
