CEI Inspector – Construction Inspection (Texarkana)

About the role
As a CEI Inspector you will verify contractor work, materials, and traffic control on active TxDOT projects to ensure full compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor on‑site construction activities and perform field sampling and testing of component materials.
- Inspect materials, completed work, and traffic‑control devices against client specifications and report deficiencies.
- Maintain detailed daily records, prepare inspection reports, and support senior inspectors.
- Participate in job safety practices and complete timesheets and expense reports.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2–5+ years construction inspection experience, including at least 1 year in bridge or roadway inspection.
- Valid driver’s license with a clear driving record.
- Ability to obtain within 12 months required certifications such as TxDOT Hot Mix Asphalt Specialist, ACI Strength, ACI Grade 1, Materials Analyst Specialist, or QCIS.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and stand/walk for extended periods.
Required skills
- TxDOT Hot Mix Asphalt Specialist Certification (Level 1A/1B)
- ACI Strength and Grade 1 Certifications
- Materials Analyst Specialist Certification (SB101/SB102)
- Qualified Compliance Inspector of Stormwater (QCIS)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat
