About the role

Parsons is seeking an experienced CBRN Lead to manage detection operations for federal customers. The role involves acting as site manager, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring safe and effective CBRN response across the United States.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct CBRN detection missions, plan logistics, manage equipment, and produce situational and after‑action reports.
  • Maintain regional documentation, both electronic and paper, following established file standards.
  • Ensure equipment, tactics, techniques, and procedures are current by completing required training and refresher courses.
  • Support fleet management by documenting and filing vehicle information in compliance with MDDP, CWMD, and DHS policies.
  • Deliver briefings on the Mobile Detection Deployment Program to diverse stakeholder groups and provide training on policies, procedures, and equipment.

Required profile

  • Active Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain DHS suitability).
  • Minimum 10 years experience in radiological and nuclear detection and training, with at least 7 years hands‑on equipment use.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75 % of the month, including back‑to‑back trips.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain a Class B CDL within three months of hire.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lb of equipment.

Required skills

  • Chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) detection and training.
  • Operation of Mobile/Portable Radiation Detection Systems, Personal Radiation Detectors, Spectroscopic and non‑spectroscopic devices, and Radiological Isotope Identification Devices (RIID).
  • Use of FTIR and Raman chemical identification equipment.
  • NIMS and Incident Command System (ICS) certifications, plus radiation‑worker training.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general computer use.
