Cattleman

About the role

We are looking for a reliable and detail‑oriented Cattleman to join our animal health research team. The position supports vaccine production, efficacy studies and biologics development by providing daily care and health monitoring for cattle used in our laboratories.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily husbandry – feeding, watering and cleaning of cattle housed in research or production facilities.
• Administer vaccines, challenge inoculations and treatments according to study protocols under the supervision of the study director.
• Monitor and record animal health, clinical signs and adverse reactions before and after procedures.
• Collect biological samples (blood, serum, tissue, swabs) for serology and efficacy testing.
• Maintain audit‑ready records in compliance with GLP, USDA and biosecurity regulations.
• Follow strict quarantine, containment and biosecurity procedures to prevent cross‑contamination.
• Assist with study setup, randomisation, ear‑tagging and RFID identification.
• Sanitize equipment between studies and manage inventory of vaccines, biologics and medical supplies, ensuring proper cold‑chain storage.
• Support necropsy or end‑of‑study procedures as required.
• Perform other duties that support departmental and program objectives.
