Category Developer – On-Premise Spirits (Denver)

About the role

The Category Developer will be the sales lead for Diageo’s spirits portfolio within an on‑premise focused account base in Denver. Reporting to the sales organization, you will drive share and velocity of assigned brands by planning and executing brand activations and building strong relationships with key account stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver sales and marketing targets for the assigned spirits category and brands.
• Develop and present beverage and marketing strategies that align with supplier goals.
• Research market trends and conduct monthly business reviews to inform growth plans.
• Plan and execute high‑end consumer activations at key on‑premise accounts.
• Gather real‑time market insights and share them with internal teams.
• Collaborate with on‑premise and retail sales teams to create creative growth solutions.
• Design and deliver training modules for sales teams, customers, and suppliers.
• Identify growth opportunities across territories and accounts and set merchandising objectives.
• Maintain confidential relationships with gatekeepers and participate in supplier‑specific sales calls.

Required profile

• Proven experience in on‑premise beverage or spirits sales.
• Strong relationship‑building and consultative selling skills.
• Ability to analyse market data and translate insights into actionable plans.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Self‑motivated with a results‑driven mindset.
