Caseworker (Ukrainian or Russian speaking)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee seeks a trauma‑informed Caseworker to support Ukrainian‑ or Russian‑speaking refugees and other qualified immigrants in Sacramento. You will coordinate essential services, develop self‑sufficiency plans, and help clients achieve long‑term stability.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate pre‑ and post‑arrival services such as housing, food, medical care, transportation, and orientation.
• Provide comprehensive case management, including public benefits, mental health, school/ESL enrollment, and referrals.
• Conduct intake assessments, develop individualized self‑sufficiency timelines, and monitor client progress.
• Maintain detailed case notes and input data into program databases.
• Travel within the service area using a personal vehicle or public transport to assist clients.

Required profile

• Associate or BA degree in Social Work, Migration Studies, Public Health, Refugee Studies, Immigration Law, or related field, or 1+ years relevant experience.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in human services, preferably with refugee or immigrant populations.
• Fluent in English and proficient in Ukrainian or Russian.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a personal, insured vehicle.
