Carpenter I

About the role

Louisiana Bridge Builders is seeking a Carpenter I to support the construction of the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge and related highway projects in Lake Charles, LA. The role involves assisting with the building, installing, repairing, and removing structures and fixtures on site.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with wood, concrete, and other materials formwork.
• Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, and related materials according to plans.
• Help build, set, and remove concrete forms and place concrete for structures.
• Install anchors, bolts, and reinforcing components for roadway structures.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely.
• Support concrete pouring and finishing processes.
• Maintain a clean and safe worksite and ensure work meets quality standards and construction codes.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years relevant construction experience.
• Proven knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
