Capital Project Engineer

About the role

As a Capital Project Engineer at 3M you will lead and deliver capital equipment and facilities projects, collaborating with cross‑functional teams worldwide to ensure timely and cost‑effective execution.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project timelines and budgets for assigned capital projects.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to execute multiple projects simultaneously.
• Coordinate with 3M plant personnel, consultants, and suppliers.
• Estimate capital equipment and installation costs.
• Protect 3M intellectual property throughout project phases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science (completed prior to start).
• Minimum three years of combined experience in engineering, manufacturing, or project management.
• Additional experience in capital equipment or facilities project management is preferred.
• Experience with web line, converting, material handling, or automation equipment is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Advanced use of spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel) for budgeting and analysis.
• Familiarity with project scheduling and presentation tools.
