Capital Markets Intern (6-month contract)

About the role

A boutique private bank is looking for a motivated Capital Markets Intern to support a range of analytical and reporting tasks across its banking operations. This six-month, full-time position is based in Midtown, New York and offers hands-on experience in capital markets, liquidity management and regulatory reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare materials for Board of Director meetings and quarterly Account Review Committee (ARC) sessions.
• Produce daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly Excel reports on banking activity, interest rates and loan origination.
• Perform interest-rate-swap market-to-market valuations and daily margin postings.
• Analyze prospective client portfolios to develop financing proposals.
• Conduct corporate and municipal bond credit analysis, ongoing surveillance and participate in credit committee reviews.
• Support mortgage pricing, bank liquidity reporting and foreign-currency hedging activities.
• Develop proficiency with the BNY Pershing NetX360 custodian platform.
• Prepare regulatory and audit responses for external agencies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or a related field (MBA or advanced education a plus).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Eagerness to learn complex financial concepts.
