Campus Custodian – Facilities Team

About the role

St. Olaf College is seeking a reliable Custodian to join its Facilities team. Working on‑site during evenings and weekends, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming campus environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Perform floor care: sweep, mop, auto‑scrub, wax, polish, vacuum carpets and extract stains.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, showers, sinks, toilets, and replenish supplies.
• Maintain general cleanliness of surfaces, windows, walls, vents, light fixtures, and classroom boards.
• Collect and manage trash and recycling, ensuring indoor and outdoor bins are emptied.
• Support maintenance tasks such as snow removal, unclogging drains, replacing bulbs, and reporting repair needs.
• Assist with event set‑ups, move furniture, and provide coverage during staff shortages.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Stable work history with reliable attendance.
• Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background check.

Required skills

• Experience operating floor machines.
• Familiarity with hydraulic man‑lifts.
• Ability to operate snow blowers.
