Campaign Director – Healthy Texas Initiative

About the role

The Texas Public Policy Foundation is seeking a Campaign Director to lead its Healthy Texas Initiative, a health‑care policy campaign aimed at advancing free‑market solutions in Texas. Reporting to the Policy Director, you will serve as the strategic hub that connects research, communications, engagement and fundraising to drive legislative outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the overall campaign strategy in partnership with the Policy Director.
• Build and maintain relationships with Texas lawmakers, staff, and key committee personnel, acting as the chief legislative advocate for the initiative.
• Coordinate communications, content creation, events and outreach to ensure consistent, high‑quality messaging.
• Facilitate coalition building with external partners, think tanks, and advocacy groups.
• Monitor legislative calendars, schedule meetings, and follow‑up on requests to keep momentum throughout the session and interim periods.
• Align campaign activities with TPPF’s mission and broader Texas campaign structure.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading policy‑focused campaigns or advocacy efforts, preferably in health‑care.
• Strong network of contacts within the Texas Legislature and an ability to engage effectively with elected officials and staff.
• Demonstrated ability to translate research‑driven policy recommendations into actionable legislative proposals.
• Excellent organizational skills with a “find a way or make one” mindset.
• Commitment to the Foundation’s conservative, free‑market principles.
