Cafe Chef, In School (No Nights/Weekends/Holidays) – Multiple Locations

About the role

The Cafe Chef works under the District Manager to independently run day‑to‑day food service operations in an assigned school kitchen. The role ensures meals are prepared, presented, and served on time with dignity, while meeting the nutritional needs of students.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with students to provide a positive, uplifting dining experience.
• Maintain a clean, presentable service line and ensure meals are served in compliant portions on schedule.
• Creatively use provided menus to elevate the cafeteria experience.
• Coordinate meal readiness, staging, and service flow to meet timing and portion standards.
• Share information between teams, resolve workflow conflicts, and keep operational systems accurate.
• Address day‑of concerns with school partners and inform the Head Chef and District Manager.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years experience in an operational or administrative role supporting cross‑functional teams.
• 1+ year in a customer‑facing role preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
• Passion for improving nutrition in schools and commitment to social justice.

Required skills

• Food Handler Certification (or obtain within 30 days of hire).
