Buyer/Planner – Manufacturing Supply Chain

About the role

Our Richmond manufacturing facility is adding a Buyer/Planner to support the business. You will determine the quantity and timing of materials needed to meet the master production schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze quotes, select or recommend suppliers, and schedule deliveries.
• Plan and purchase materials according to the master production schedule.
• Monitor and adjust work‑in‑progress, schedules, and finished‑goods delivery to meet customer requirements.
• Ensure material availability through accurate inventory monitoring, purchasing and follow‑up, including external suppliers.
• Support development and implementation of strategic production planning methodologies.
• Analyze inventory values and system setup to reduce excess and obsolete stock.
• Monitor supplier forecasting systems and air‑freight costs.
• Communicate Product Supply Agreements (PSA) and support supplier development.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated professional comfortable networking in an international, cross‑cultural environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of buying and planning, including purchasing, scheduling, inventory and forecasting.
• Working knowledge of MRP systems.
• Ability to prioritize projects, manage workload independently and communicate effectively.
