Buyer – Industrial Distribution

About the role

We are seeking a Buyer to manage procurement and inventory for our Industrial Fluid Process Distribution unit in Baton Rouge. The role supports the supply chain to ensure on‑time delivery and optimal stock levels.

Key responsibilities

• Execute procurement processes to maximize customer on‑time delivery while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
• Regularly maintain ERP inventory master and warehouse records.
• Communicate with suppliers and follow SunSource’s best‑practice supply‑chain management.
• Process supplier returns and credits for defective, obsolete, and excess materials.
• Proactively manage excess and obsolete material.
• Serve as a conduit for communications between SunSource and suppliers.
• Schedule and organize supplier cadence and escalation meetings as needed.
• Engage in ongoing training to obtain and refresh skills.

Required profile

• Inventory or purchasing experience in manufacturing or distribution.
• One to three years in fluid process‑related industries preferred but not required.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office fluency.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
