Business Systems Analyst 3 – Central

About the role

The University of Miami’s Information Technology & Systems Department is seeking a full‑time Business Systems Analyst 3 – Central. The analyst will collect data, evaluate existing processes, and design improvements that enhance performance, reduce costs, and increase efficiency across campus systems.

Key responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and triage application issues; create and maintain support documentation; test internal releases and perform system maintenance.
• Provide training for internal users and monitor system availability in partnership with system administrators.
• Develop detailed action plans, cost estimates, and flow‑charts for process improvements; conduct research on best‑practice models and benchmarking.
• Configure, manage, and enhance Slate and related portals using native features, SQL, and automation to support recruitment and enrollment.
• Perform ad‑hoc data analysis, build dashboards, and generate reports to support management decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
• Experience with higher‑education admissions systems, user training, and documentation development.
• Agile/Scrum experience, including user story creation and acceptance criteria definition.
• Preferred certifications: IIBA AAC and Slate certification.

Required skills

• Slate configuration and customization, including workflow, query, and form development.
• SQL for data extraction and system enhancements.
• Power BI (or similar) for data analysis and dashboard creation.
• Microsoft Office suite – Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
• Agile/Scrum methodologies and project‑management tools.
• Familiarity with AI‑driven platforms such as Collegevine and Gravyty.
