Business Operations Lead

About the role

We are looking for a senior Business Operations professional to partner with the CFO and leaders across Check. You will own high‑impact, cross‑functional initiatives, turn data into actionable insights, and help shape strategic decisions for our fast‑growing payroll platform.

Key responsibilities

• Own high‑priority, cross‑functional initiatives end‑to‑end, from scoping and analysis through execution and measurement.
• Work directly with senior leaders to define and prioritize the most critical strategic questions facing the business.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and design process improvements that drive efficiency and margin.
• Develop and maintain critical operating metrics and reporting cadences, translating data into clear recommendations.
• Apply AI tools and agents to analysis, reporting, and workflow design as a core part of the role.

Required profile

• 6+ years of total work experience, including 2+ years in investment banking or consulting and 2+ years in a high‑growth startup.
• Strong financial modeling, analytical, and presentation skills.
• Ability to distill complex, ambiguous issues into structured frameworks and clear recommendations.
• Comfort operating with high autonomy, shifting priorities, and building alignment across functions.

Required skills

• SQL proficiency or equivalent analytical depth.
• Experience with AI tools/agents to accelerate workflows.
