Business Intelligence Data Analyst

About the role

The Business Intelligence Data Analyst will partner with BI developers, architects, data engineers and business stakeholders to translate business needs into clear, development‑ready requirements. You will support the delivery of reporting and analytics solutions by understanding data sources, ETL/ELT flows, and how data is modeled for reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, clarify and document reporting and analytics requirements from business users.
• Collaborate with BI, data architecture and engineering teams to create technical specifications.
• Analyze source systems, data warehouses, semantic layers and BI tools to support solution design.
• Document source‑to‑target mappings, business rules, metric definitions and report logic.
• Create development‑ready user stories, tickets and acceptance criteria.
• Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, testing and release coordination.
• Validate reporting outputs against source data and business rules.
• Investigate data discrepancies, reporting defects and gaps.
• Assist with user acceptance testing and production validation of dashboards, reports and semantic models.
• Communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders and business context to technical teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Business Analyst or similar role supporting data, reporting or analytics initiatives.
