Business Development Representative

About the role

The Business Development Representative (BDR) serves as the primary liaison between Workforce Solutions East Texas and the regional business community. You will engage employers across East Texas to promote workforce solutions, connect them with qualified talent, and support regional economic development.

Key responsibilities

• Market and outreach to businesses about services offered by Workforce Solutions East Texas.
• Identify, recruit, and engage employers for participation in workforce programs.
• Conduct cold calls, emails, site visits, and attend networking events to expand employer partnerships.
• Document outcomes such as job postings, hiring events, OJT contracts, and training opportunities.
• Collaborate with Employment Services and RESEA staff to match qualified candidates with employer needs.
• Perform labor market research to pinpoint high‑demand industries and emerging workforce needs.
• Maintain long‑term employer relationships and follow‑up to ensure satisfaction.
• Plan and execute employer meetings, presentations, and hiring events both in‑person and virtually.
• Participate in community and inter‑agency events to foster networking and public relations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building employer relationships.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal program teams.
• Commitment to confidentiality and compliance with relevant policies.

Required skills

• Proficiency in conducting outreach via phone, email, and in‑person visits.
• Experience with labor market research and data documentation.
• Ability to track and report outcomes in designated systems.
